Grapes have enjoyed august just as we have ! And continued gaining in maturity approx 2/10e/day. Grapes taking allow us to start drawing harvest itinerary among our 90 parcells. Potential start end of next week with Meuniers and Pinot Noirs or Grande Vallée before moving to Montagne de Reims.

The House gives you appointment tomorrow at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Fair HKTDC Exhibition Channel 香港貿發局展覽頻道! Visitors will have the pleasure to taste great wines served for the occasion which of course Champagne BRUNO PAILLARD House.
Bruno Paillard was last week’s at Tamegade gallery to greet the artist Chen Jiang Hong, author of Champagne BRUNO PAILLARD Blanc de Blancs illustration. Each vintage has to be faithful to the year, to express as closely as possible, its style. This is why Bruno Paillard wanted to illustrate individually each vintage. To illustrate the Blanc de Blancs 2004, Chen Jiang Hong worked on the theme “Childhood dreams”, inspired by the bright and rounded nose this wine offers; the brioche, almond and nutmeg evoke memories of delicious savoury morcels. The Exhibition moves, can be seen from 6 to 29/11 to Tamenaga Gallery Osaka.
And after the harvest?
After the harvest, the grapes are crushed in the closest wine press to the vineyard. Only the juice from the first pressing is used, the first 50cl yielded by each kilo of grapes. In the winery, the must is divided between tanks and barrels and according to their origins, grape varieties and even specific plots. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in open tanks, except for some specific vineyards which are vinified in small oak barrels under the supervision of the team in order to control its evolution.

Monday in Vienna was a great day for Champagne, thanks to Champagne Gala organized by Falstaff! A very busy and magnificent event! The House BRUNO PAILLARD had the pleasure to present with its Austrian partner Döllerer the 3 cuvées: Première Cuvée, Rosé Première Cuvée and Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru.
Great tasting in Munich!
Special guests tasted last week at Hotel Königshof München, with Bruno Paillard, a great collection of Champagne BRUNO PAILLARD: Première Cuvée, Rosé Première Cuvée, Blanc de blancs Grand Cru, Blanc de Blancs 2004, Assemblage 2004, Nec-Plus-Ultra 1999 and the rare and splendid Mesnil 95. A great moment with connoisseurs including the famous: Charles Schumann from Schumann’s Bar Am Hofgarten.

Let’s go for the harvest!
Let’s go! Today, very first day of harvest in our vineyards, starting logically by the southern village of Les Riceys. This village – probably the best reknowned in the Aube – generally started harvesting on Wednesday the 2nd. But thanks to healthy grape, dry and cool weather, we chose at Maison BP to wait two more days to harvest very beautiful Pinot Noirs. We have pleasure to see the vine is giving us in return a nice quality to start with! Next should be the Meuniers. But, as you know, during harvest…nothing ever goes as planned!

All the hard work and passion of the last 34 years – both in the vineyard and in the cellar – which have created the unique style of Champagne BRUNO PAILLARD, have again been rewarded! Bettane & Desseauve have awarded us with a lovely “heart” for our Assemblage 2004. We are happy and glad to share that with you!
